American Style Pancakes with Bacon Recipe

Yield: 4

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 6-8 bacon slices
  • 100 plain flour
  • 2 tsp of butter
  • 100ml whole milk
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • Maple syrup
  • Salt

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt. Whisk them together until
they are well-combined. Then, add the egg, oil, and milk, and whisk them until the flour is
moistened and the pancake batter is done.
  2. Place oil in a cast-iron griddle or frying pan and cook the slices of bacon, until they are crispy and
golden. Once they are cooked, drain the bacon on paper towels.
  3. Remove the bacon oil, but leave a little bit of it to give your pancakes a more bacon taste.
  4. There are 2 options to make the pancakes: Pour or scoop 1⁄4 cup of batter into the pan, and top a
bacon strip. Or place a slide of bacon back to the pan and then pour the batter on top of it. Either
way, cook them for 2 minutes, flip and repeat. Set the pancakes aside and leave them in the oven
    to keep them warm.
  5. Keep doing this process until all the batter is used up. Finally, serve them on a plate, add a
drizzle of maple syrup on top to taste.
